SERVICE HOURS REQUIREMENT
Purpose: To encourage growth of the school; encourage building of relationships between staff and families to help accomplish needed tasks; involve parents in a Christ-like service to the school that serves their youth; provide an example of service to our youth; and to share the responsibility of providing the best school environment for all students.
Requirement: 20 Hours Per Year – Per Family
Individuals who may provide work for eligible service hoursare:parents/guardians,grandparents, or other relatives.Whenever someone other than parents/guardians will be working service hours for the family, arrangements must be made prior to the job being performed.
Opportunities:
There are a variety of opportunities for you to meet your service hours obligation. If you possess talents or skills that can be utilized but are not shown on the list of opportunities, please contact the school office.
Restrictions: You can not use the same work to satisfy multiple requirements.
Alternative: A $200.00 fee is payable at the beginning of the school year, if your family knows in advance that they are unable to assist in any capacity towards the service requirement.
There is a $10 per hour fee for each service hour not fulfilled. These will be billed by April 15th and are payable by May 1st.
Though all families are expected to participate in the service hours requirement, exceptions may be made for families with special circumstances that prevent participation. Mrs. Blankenchip can privately make appropriate arrangements for such families.
Tracking: Each parent/guardian is responsible for reporting his or her own hours to the appropriate staff/event coordinator and getting a signed copy of the “Parent Volunteer Hours Form”. Keep this form as your verification of hours served. The hours are recorded and can be viewed through Renweb. In order to challenge the amount of hours recorded, you must be able to present your signed copy of the “Parent Volunteer Hours Form”.
