How big are the class sizes? At CCA we believe that strong and
personal student/teacher relationships are integral to effective
learning and thus, we are committed to keeping our class sizes under 15
students.
Where do CCA graduates go to college? Juniors and
Seniors at CCA are guided through the college selection and application
process, step-by-step. In the past 5 years, 97.8% of CCA graduates
continued on to attend college, 92% of which enrolled in 4 year
universities. We have CCA alumni currently attending UCLA, UC Davis, UC
Santa Cruz, Cal, as well as Cal State Campuses throughout the state.
What kind of extracurricular programs does CCA offer? Students
at CCA meet after school for Writers Workshop, paint student-designed
murals to adorn the campus, and put on a full scale, original
theatrical production each Spring - to name a few. Additionally, the
CCA students compete in the Bay Area Christian Sports League in sports
like: basketball, baseball, softball, volleyball and soccer.
What curricula does CCA use? Though
we encourage staff members to expand and adapt any and all curriculum
to meet the needs of each student group, each grade/content area has a
prescribed curriculum to provide benchmarks and guidelines. The
publishers of the core curricula are listed below by grade and subject.
Elementary: Purposeful Design, Abeka, Wright Group Literacy, Foss Science, Everyday Mathematics. Middle/High School: Mathematics- Holt, Science- Glencoe, English and History- Mcdouggal Littell
