Bible Study
In each grade a period of each day is set aside for specific Bible instruction. The study of the Scripture is introduced with consideration for individual needs, interests and abilities. In the elementary, it is conducted by the teacher in the classroom, and in the junior high and high school, in Bible class. Calvary Christian Academy teaches those truths which are central to Christian tradition. Each student is encouraged to internalize his/her Christian faith with understanding and personal interpretation to feel ownership of their faith and acceptance of Jesus Christ as his/her Savior and Lord. Each child learns how to use the Bible and is introduced to the entire spectrum of Biblical truth through a graded, age-appropriate program.
Scripture Memorization
Memorization of Scripture is a good mental discipline and is important in guiding positive Christian thoughts and actions. The ability of students to memorize and develop great mental facility is often underestimated. With this in mind, Scripture memorization is encouraged throughout the year.
Prayer
The students of Calvary are led in the practice of prayer on a daily basis including: the beginning of the school day, during our chapel program, or as a staff member deems it appropriate. We openly encourage individual and corporate prayer, as well as the sharing of needs for prayer with one another.
Christian Example and Leadership
Our teachers are well grounded in the Bible and mature Christian life. They come to their profession with a sincere desire to serve the Lord through their teaching and to encourage a consistent Christian atmosphere in the many details of the classroom activities.
Chapel
Chapel is held weekly. Teachers, students, the principal and various community guests lead the students in worship and instruction. Parents are welcome to attend during chapel programs.
